Al-Assar family: Gangs loyal to the occupation lured young men with the promise of work and kidnapped them

The Al-Assar family confirmed that groups loyal to the occupation lured Palestinian young men under the pretext of providing work, then transported them behind the yellow line and detained them. They stated that their son Khaled Al-Assar and his companion Raed Abu Shhama were killed during their third escape attempt, following an Israeli strike just meters before reaching the yellow line.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Al-Assar family confirmed that groups loyal to the occupation lured a number of Palestinian young men under the pretext of providing job opportunities, before transporting them to areas behind the yellow line and detaining them. The family said that a person named Yasser Hneidq lured a group of young minors last April, without their families' knowledge, promising them work in a workshop in Deir al-Balah, but they were surprised to be transported to another area, which the family considered a kidnapping and deception. They added that Khaled Al-Assar and his companion Raed Abu Shhama tried to return to their families after discovering the deceit and refused to stay at the location, noting that their repeated escape attempts were met with detention, restrictions, confiscation of Khaled's phone, and shaving of his head. The family explained that the third escape attempt ended with the killing of Khaled and his companion after they were targeted by an Israeli strike, just meters before reaching the yellow line, accusing individuals they claimed were loyal to the occupation of contributing to their pursuit and locating them. The family held the Israeli occupation directly responsible for the killing of their son and accused Yasser Hneidq and Akram Jargoun of contributing to the circumstances of the incident.
