The announcement comes after parking spaces became available in the airport's parking complexes over the past day, now allowing people to once again arrive by private car, subject to availability. The IAA spokesperson stated that the parking lots were opened as of this morning, after spaces became available. Just yesterday (Sunday), the authority issued an unusual announcement calling on the public not to arrive by private cars due to full occupancy in all parking lots. The parking congestion occurred against the backdrop of peak traffic during the Tishrei holidays and the intermediate days of Sukkot, a period during which over a million passengers are expected to pass through Ben Gurion Airport on tens of thousands of flights.
