Division 99 completed its mission in the northern Gaza Strip today (Wednesday) after four months of intensive operations. According to an IDF spokesperson, during this period over 100 terrorists were eliminated, including those who infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7 and those who held hostages in captivity. The forces operated east of the yellow line, a line to which the IDF withdrew as part of the ceasefire agreement from October 2025. During the operations, approximately eight kilometers of underground routes were neutralized, and numerous infrastructures were destroyed, including an observation command post and buildings used by the terrorists. The continuation of the mission in the area will be taken over by the headquarters of Division 162. Meanwhile, Hamas is trying to strengthen its economic grip on the Strip. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Major General Yoram Lavi, sent a letter to senior international community officials stating that the organization demands about 10,000 shekels per truck from merchants and threatens those who refuse. Following the arrest of a merchant's son, private merchants suspended the coordination of shipments.
