Indictment filed against police detective: Accused of assaulting civilians and obstructing investigation

The Police Internal Investigations Department submitted a serious indictment to the Haifa Magistrate's Court against a police detective, including three counts of assaulting civilians and obstruction of justice. According to the indictment, the detective assaulted civilians in three separate incidents that occurred between January and April 2025. In the first incident, in April 2025, the detective blocked a civilian vehicle after believing its occupants had cursed him, punched the driver in the face, and caused injuries requiring stitches. In the second incident, in February 2025 in Sajur, the detective assaulted a civilian during a police search, knocked him down, kicked him, and caused fractures to his eye socket. In the third incident, in January 2025 in Kfar Rama, the detective hit a complainant, scratched him, and threatened him, saying, "I'll fuck you, my uncles are from the Hayib family." In all three cases, according to the indictment, the detective filed false reports to justify the violence. Another detective is accused of obstruction of justice in one of the cases. The indictment was filed by attorney Daniel Arfi, and the case was investigated by the Northern Team of the Police Internal Investigations Department.
