The camp includes 165 families headed by women, 90 families headed by elderly people, and about 1,500 children. Coordinator Yasser Barhoum and the displaced appeal to humanitarian organizations to provide tents, tarpaulins, and blankets before the onset of severe weather depressions.

A report from the "Al-Ard Al-Tayyiba" camp in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis paints a grim picture of the conditions of 820 displaced families, totaling about 4,500 people, preparing for a new winter in dilapidated tents on barren land overlooking the sea, without infrastructure to protect them from rain, wind, and cold. The camp includes about 165 families headed by women alone, more than 90 families headed by elderly people lacking physical ability, about 1,500 children under 16, and dozens of patients with chronic diseases, according to camp coordinator Yasser Barhoum. Barhoum says most of the tents are locally made and have deteriorated due to harsh weather conditions last winter. The newspaper conveys testimonies from displaced people, including Naama Abu Rabia, who lives with her seven children in a tent that cannot accommodate them, and her husband has been a prisoner since the beginning of the war and suffers from a mobility disability. She recalls how water flooded her tent last winter, forcing her to take her children out and stay outside until dawn. Displaced person Ahmed Al-Shawaf, who supports his family and the children of his martyred son, describes the camp's situation as "very tragic," noting that 80-90% of the tents need repair or replacement. Barhoum calls for urgent preventive interventions including new tents, thick nylon tarpaulins, wood, ropes, mattresses, blankets, and ground insulation, in addition to hygiene supplies to limit the spread of diseases with the accumulation of rainwater and sewage. He warns that delaying the response until the onset of severe weather depressions will make protecting the displaced more difficult.
