Netanyahu claims: "We warned Britain that Iran could harm them"

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in an interview with Fox News that Israel provided Britain with intelligence about an Iranian intention to carry out an attack on its soil, and sharply criticized the sanctions London imposed on Israel in response.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed in an interview with Fox News that Israel provided Britain with early intelligence about an Iranian intention to carry out a terrorist attack on its soil. In the interview with host Sean Hannity, Netanyahu said: "We gave the British the intelligence that an attack was about to occur, and it's an attack under Iranian auspices, and about the next day they imposed sanctions on us. On us! So that's just crazy." The remarks came against the backdrop of British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's confirmation that there are strong indications of Iranian involvement in planning the foiled attack near RAF Fairford airbase this week. Meanwhile, Britain expanded its arms embargo on Israel and suspended or refused more than 80 defense export licenses, a number nearly three times higher than the restrictions imposed in September 2024. These steps joined British Foreign Secretary Miliband's declaration of a ban on imports from settlements.
