A 17-year-old girl, with no known underlying medical conditions, is hospitalized in serious condition in the pediatric intensive care unit at Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital, following severe complications from the flu. According to a hospital statement, the girl arrived in the early morning hours suffering from a severe infection and a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Within hours, her condition further deteriorated, and she is now sedated, on a ventilator, and requires medication to support her blood pressure. The hospital noted that the girl had not yet been vaccinated against the flu. Dr. Noa Rosenfeld, director of the pediatric intensive care unit, warned that even healthy children and teenagers can develop life-threatening complications from the flu and stressed the importance of vaccination.
