"You Didn't Marry the Chair": Merav Ben Ari Prepared Recommendations for Idit Silman
MK Merav Ben Ari (Together) expands on her recommendations for Idit Silman, attacks clinging to seats, and clarifies that the term-limit law and the ban on a criminal defendant serving are not personal legislation against Netanyahu. Ben Ari refers to low voter turnout in the 2022 elections and estimates that this time the picture will change.
In an interview with 103FM, MK Merav Ben Ari from the Together party addressed several burning political issues. Ben Ari, who spoke with Barak Seri and Eli Ohana, did not miss an opportunity to needle her longtime rival Idit Silman, saying she had prepared recommendations for her. She attacked MKs who cling to their seats in vain, hinting at Silman. Regarding future legislation, Ben Ari detailed that the first law to be advanced by the Change Bloc coalition would be a state commission of inquiry, followed by a term-limit law. She emphasized that the term-limit law and the ban on a criminal defendant serving as prime minister are not selective legislation against Benjamin Netanyahu, but general standards. "Release me from him," she said of Netanyahu, adding that there are enough talented people without indictments who can serve in senior positions. Ben Ari also addressed the low voter turnout in the 2022 elections, recounting a meeting with a voter in Pardes Hanna-Karkur who told her she would not vote for them due to their support for the Green Pass framework. She called on the liberal public to go out and vote, expressing optimism that this time turnout would be higher.
