Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen has been appointed president of the scientific advisory committee of Quantum X Labs, a public company traded on Nasdaq under the symbol QXL. Following the announcement, the company's stock surged by 13%. The company develops quantum technologies in several fields: quantum computing based on neutral atoms, quantum error correction architecture, quantum gyroscope for navigation in GPS-denied environments, atomic clocks, and simulations in nuclear and life sciences. CEO Vicki Burns said: "We did not appoint Yossi Cohen to be a representative name on our letterhead. Our developments will be tested in the real world, not just in the lab." Cohen stated that he examined several companies in the deep-tech and quantum fields and chose Quantum X Labs due to the combination of human capital and technological potential. Serving alongside him on the committee are Prof. Oren Kurland from the Technion and Prof. Oren Raz from the Weizmann Institute. The appointment joins a series of roles Cohen has taken since ending his tenure as Mossad chief in 2021, including positions at SoftBank, Doral, Claroity, and Airodrome.
