Bereaved father Yitzhak Bunzel, whose son the late Amit Bunzel fell in battle in the Gaza Strip, was interviewed today (Monday) on the program "Medabrim Hadashot" with Eliraz Sadeh. Bunzel addressed his previous remarks about former hostage Yocheved Lifshitz, saying he immediately apologized for the statement, but emphasized that Lifshitz's words are "contemptible things." He claimed that not one of the hostage families has knocked on the door of the bereaved families to thank them for the sacrifice that brought their loved ones home. Bunzel said: "My son brought Yocheved's husband home to his eternal rest. Why hasn't she knocked on our door?" He described the difficult period of the High Holidays for the bereaved families, noting that the cemeteries are full. Bunzel also addressed the progress of the war in Gaza, saying that the IDF controls 70% of the Strip and all hostages have been returned, and that the pressure on the government has done its part, though there is still work to be done.
