Yair Golan courts Arabs: "You will topple Winter and Handel"

Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan appealed to Arab voters, saying a large turnout would raise the electoral threshold and prevent Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael party and the Handel-Zlicha list from entering the Knesset.

Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan appealed to Arab voters during a visit to an Arab town in the north, calling on them to vote in large numbers. According to him, a broad turnout would raise the electoral threshold and make it harder for small right-wing parties to cross it. Golan explicitly said: "You will topple Winter and Handel." This refers to the Amcha Yisrael party of reserve Major General Ofer Winter and the Handel-Zlicha list, which according to the report are in the danger zone of the electoral threshold. Golan presented voting for the Democrats as a move that could affect the entire bloc map, not just his party's seat count. For the opposition bloc, the desired scenario is increased Arab voter turnout, strengthening of left-wing and Arab parties, and loss of votes for right-wing lists that fail to cross the threshold.
