Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's advisor, Jonathan Orich, earned approximately 1.2 million shekels over nine months during the war for projects for foreign countries, including Qatar. This was reported this evening on the Kan News broadcast. Orich worked closely with the Prime Minister as an external advisor, but in practice served in a much more significant role. He received large sums from the company 'Perception' owned by Shrulik Einhorn, without a conflict of interest arrangement or security clearance. The monthly amounts ranged from 68,000 shekels in January 2024 to 206,000 in May, and in August-September he received three transfers of 187,000 shekels each. Out of this amount, 18,000 dollars were transferred for the 'Lighthouse' project to promote Qatar. Receiving the payment from Qatar is being investigated on criminal and security levels. Judge Menachem Mizrahi accepted Orich's claim that he is an external advisor, but Judge Amit Michals pointed out the problematic nature. The prosecution is conducting groundwork to regulate the issue of external advisors.
