Yair Golan attacks Naftali Bennett over Walla interview: 'Delegitimizing my public'

Yair Golan attacked Naftali Bennett after Bennett said in an interview with Walla that Golan is a controversial figure who cannot serve as Minister of Justice. Golan said he represents hundreds of thousands who went out to fight for a democratic Israel, and sent a message to Bennett: 'We must not succumb to the poison machine.'

Yair Golan, chairman of The Democrats, attacked Naftali Bennett, chairman of Beyahad, following Bennett's comments in an interview on the Walla studio. Bennett claimed that Golan is a "controversial" figure who cannot serve as Minister of Justice in the next government. Golan, in an interview with Channel 13 News, was furious at the remark and said he represents hundreds of thousands of people who went out to fight for a democratic Israel, helped in the Gaza envelope and the north, and fought for the release of the hostages. "We must not succumb to the poison machine," Golan told Bennett. Bennett, for his part, clarified that "controversial" people will not receive sensitive portfolios like Justice or Education, but noted that cooperation with left-wing figures had worked for him in the past.
