Halbany wrote on X that from 1996 to 2021 she handled all prime ministerial visits to the UN General Assembly, and that there was always a meeting with the US president, even if it required flying to Washington. She said that there has never been a situation where a prime minister traveled, spoke, and returned without any meeting. Halbany harshly criticized Netanyahu's political standing, claiming that no one wants to meet with him after he lost his glory and respect in the world, and that "he brought this on himself." She also hinted that if Trump changes his mind and invites Netanyahu, "the odious couple" would be happy to stay in New York for the Sukkot holiday.
