Winter responds to Netanyahu: "Why wait? If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first"

Ofer Winter, chairman of the "Amcha Yisrael" party, harshly attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz today (Tuesday) over security warnings of attempted attacks and soldier abductions in the Gaza Strip. Winter quoted Netanyahu as saying there are signs of an attack attempt in the coming days, and Katz as saying they would try to abduct a soldier. In response, Winter called out: "Why the hell are we waiting?!" and used the Talmudic phrase "If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first" as a call for immediate action. Winter criticized what he termed the "policy of containment and rounds" and claimed that Israel is still captive to the "concept" of pre-war thinking, three years after its start. According to him, Israel achieved tremendous gains at heavy costs but did not reach a decision. He called for dismantling Hamas now, taking initiative instead of waiting, and acting for emigration and decisive victory. He concluded by presenting his party's approach: "In our watch, this will not happen."
