Simple dietary changes to protect the cardiovascular system

An international study combining 87 randomized experiments with over 6,500 participants found that daily consumption of 60–100 grams of whole grains improves key health indicators: reduces weight, blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose levels, as well as an inflammation marker.

An international team of scientists conducted a large-scale meta-analysis, combining the results of 87 randomized clinical experiments. The sample included more than 6,500 volunteers from Europe, North America, Asia, and Brazil. The analysis showed that the maximum therapeutic effect for the cardiovascular system is achieved with daily consumption of 60 to 100 grams of whole grain products. Participants who regularly consumed such products demonstrated reduced body weight and waist circumference, stabilized blood pressure, improved lipid profile (reduced total cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins, and triglycerides), reduced blood glucose levels, and decreased levels of interleukin-6, a key marker of systemic inflammation. Practicing dietitian Lauren Manaker recommends starting with oatmeal in the morning and gradually replacing refined grains with brown rice or sorghum. The article references a Fox News publication.
