When they refuse the will of the voter
Nadav Shragai argues that the convergence of the dates of Rabin Day, Rachel's Tomb Day, and Election Day serves as a reminder to steer clear of boycotts and delegitimization of the true results. He warns against the 'Only not Bibi' campaign and those who refuse to accept the will of the voter, and calls on President Herzog to work towards a unity government.
Nadav Shragai, in an opinion column in Israel Hayom, argues that the convergence of the dates of the memorial day for Yitzhak Rabin, the memorial day for Rachel our Matriarch, and Election Day serves as a reminder of the need to steer clear of boycotts and delegitimization of the true results. He recounts a historic meeting in Rabin's office, where Hanan Porat and Menachem Porush convinced the prime minister to reverse his decision to hand over Rachel's Tomb to Palestinian control, through a hug and tears. Shragai claims that today, the 'Only not Bibi' camp is running a campaign of boycott and delegitimization, including statements by opposition leaders that they will not sit with Netanyahu, and violent calls against him. He warns against the 'Defendant's Law' designed to remove Netanyahu from the political arena, and argues that the 'election theft' campaign is meant to pave the way for the left's refusal to accept the true results. Shragai calls on President Herzog to deny legitimacy to those who cast doubt on the election results and to work towards a unity government.
