American journalist Matthew Cole alleges in his new book 'Princes and Thieves' that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu encouraged Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of former US President Donald Trump, to transfer approximately $1 billion he secretly received from the United Arab Emirates to an account at the Bank of Israel. According to the publication, the money was transferred to Israel via Azerbaijan in 2018 and was intended for Kushner's personal benefit, as part of a network of secret accounts totaling about $2 billion funded by the rulers of the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Cole claims that Netanyahu was involved in managing one of the accounts and even demanded to be updated before transfers. Kushner strongly denied the allegations, calling them 'baseless fabrications'. Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman also denied any involvement.
