Adam Neumann, the founder of WeWork, told the podcast 'The Diary of a CEO' that observing Shabbat, which he took upon himself a decade ago, helped him focus his thoughts, understand the next step in business and life, and disconnect from his phone for 24 hours. He described Shabbat as an effective way to get to know himself better and be part of something bigger than himself.
Adam Neumann, the founder of WeWork, told the podcast 'The Diary of a CEO' hosted by Steven Bartlett about his decision to observe Shabbat about a decade ago. According to him, disconnecting from technology for 24 hours reveals the extent of phone addiction in the first two hours, but afterwards allows for an amazing feeling, especially when planning dinner with friends or an outdoor activity. Neumann noted that the best ideas come during Shabbat, including those about business, relationships, and the next step in life. Bartlett praised Neumann's depth and rare perspective, noting that it's easy to believe in yourself when everything is good, but the real question is what you believe in when everything collapses. Neumann served as CEO of WeWork for nearly a decade, and the company expanded to 156 branches worldwide, six of them in Israel. Today he is CEO of Flow, a residential and real estate company, and his net worth is estimated at about $2.8 billion. He is married to Rebecca Victoria Paltrow and they have six children.
