Retired Turkish Admiral Cihat Yaycı gave an interview and referred to the "Mecca Alliance" with nuclear Pakistan and the "Badr Memorandum" for security cooperation with Qatar and Indonesia. He sent a harsh message to Israel, saying "We will crush them like insects" – a statement made in response to Israeli viewers who wrote comments during a previous broadcast. Yaycı claimed that the alliances are not directed against Israel, and that the United States supports them. He estimated that Egypt and Saudi Arabia would join the memorandum, and stated that the partnership would disturb Iran, India, China, and European arms exporters. Yaycı defined Turkey as a "regional game-setter and global game-breaker" and warned that "free cheese is only found in a mousetrap."
