‘We’ll Meet in the Sukkah’ brings people together for face-to-face dialogue across Israeli society

The Safeguarding Our Shared Home organization is running its fourth annual 'We'll Meet in the Sukkah' initiative for Sukkot, bringing Israelis of different backgrounds together for face-to-face dialogue in sukkahs across the country. The initiative is dedicated to Moshe Ochion and his son Eliad, murdered in the October 7 attack in Ofakim.

The Safeguarding Our Shared Home (Shomrim al HaBayit Hameshutaf) organization is running its fourth annual 'We'll Meet in the Sukkah' initiative for the Sukkot holiday. The initiative invites Israelis of different backgrounds and opinions to register their sukkahs to host guests or visit other sukkahs for face-to-face dialogue. This year's initiative is dedicated to Moshe Ochion and his son Eliad, both murdered in the October 7 attack in Ofakim just one day after participating in the initiative that year. Eyal Gur, one of the organization's leaders, said the goal is not to make people agree but to allow conversation through disagreement, emphasizing the importance of stepping away from screens and headlines ahead of the elections. One participating sukkah is dedicated to Haymanot Kasau, who went missing almost three years ago, with her family present throughout the holiday.
