Three years after the fall of soldiers from Battalion 13 of the Golani Brigade, Shalev Barnes, Dolev Amoyal, and their commander Dekel Svisa in the battle for the Pega outpost on the morning of Simchat Torah, October 7, the bereaved families returned to the outpost to mark the anniversary. A Torah scroll was dedicated at the outpost in their memory. The families are partners in establishing the Pega association, which operates a branded food truck that travels across the country, reaching IDF bases, memorial events, and community activities, with the aim of passing on the soldiers' story to future generations. Eva Barnes, Shalev's mother, says: "We don't just commemorate the fall, but the path they walked." Aryeh Amit, founder of the association, explains that the goal is to preserve the memory of the battle and pass on the legacy to soldiers, children, and communities.
