Former minister Uriel Busso, a senior member of the Shas party, said in an interview on 103FM that 'we are not Bibists,' but clarified that the political connection with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is substantive. Busso expressed confidence that Shas will achieve a double-digit number of mandates in the 2026 elections, noting that in previous polls the party received 8 mandates in the last Channel 12 poll but actually brought 11. He attacked left-wing groups that he said invested hundreds of millions in campaigns against the ultra-Orthodox and Shas, and defended Shas chairman Aryeh Deri's statements regarding the conscription of ultra-Orthodox, claiming that the state violated the contract with the world of Torah. Busso, who stated that he served in the army as an officer, called for preserving Israel's Jewish identity.
