A violent confrontation took place this evening (Saturday) at the HaMosheva Stadium in Petah Tikva, during a Premier League match between Maccabi Netanya and Hapoel Petah Tikva in the sixth round. A steward at the stadium clashed with Maccabi Netanya fans, and in published images, the security guard is seen cursing, spitting at the fans, and even throwing a punch at one of them. The cause of the brawl has not yet been clarified, and the incident is being investigated by the police. This incident joins a series of violent events at the same stadium: just last August, at the same stadium and between the same teams, a confrontation occurred where a steward hit a fan with an iron bar. The association and police then promised that such incidents would not recur, but the article notes that no lessons were learned. The article reports the events using factual descriptions of the violence, while noting the unfulfilled previous promises.
