US ambassador in trouble: "I paid 300 thousand dollars and didn't get even one favor"

The US ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, is embroiled in a corruption scandal: a longtime Trump donor claims he paid her 300 thousand dollars over the years in exchange for access to senior administration officials, and that she asked him for an additional 100 thousand dollars days before her confirmation hearing. The messages were published in the Wall Street Journal.

The US ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, former fiancée of Donald Trump Jr., is embroiled in a serious corruption scandal. A longtime Trump donor, businessman and conservative radio host Eric Deters, claims he paid her 300 thousand dollars over the years in exchange for access to senior administration officials. According to messages published in the Wall Street Journal, on July 3, 2025, six days before her Senate confirmation hearing, Guilfoyle asked Deters to pay a 100 thousand dollar credit card bill of hers. "Honey, please, I need you to sort this out for me today," she allegedly wrote. Deters refused, but claims he had paid her in the past for appearances and speeches, while asking her to use her connections for personal matters. In a memo he sent her, he wrote: "I paid you 300 thousand dollars over the years. I didn't get even one favor." Guilfoyle asked to move to conversations on a secure app. The Democrats opened an investigation, and Vice President Vance expressed reservations.
