Israeli cloud security company Upwind Security, led by CEO Amiram Shachar, has acquired Aegis, an Israeli AI cybersecurity startup that had been operating in stealth. Aegis was founded at the start of 2026 by Omri Limor and Saar Ankonina, both IDF Unit 8200 graduates who previously worked at cybersecurity companies Centra and Sweet Security. The startup developed technology to identify the characteristics of attacks involving AI agents, a threat difficult to detect with current tools. Market sources estimate the acquisition was for about $30 million in shares. Aegis had no customers or revenue at the time of the deal.
