Trump says Iran wants a deal and it could happen
US President Donald Trump stated that Iran wants to reach an agreement and that a deal is possible, speaking at a campaign rally and an event in Washington without providing details.
US President Donald Trump did not rule out the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iran on Monday evening, stating that Iran is interested in such a deal. In a midterm campaign closing speech delivered in Washington, Trump claimed that Iran's military capabilities have been severely damaged and its economic situation has deteriorated, making it interested in an agreement. He linked a $10 drop in oil prices to US military achievements, claiming it was the largest daily decline in history. Trump detailed the damage to the Iranian military, including the destruction of its navy and air force, and alleged inflation of over 300% in Iran. Alongside this, he clarified that the US will never allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, and that the Iranians themselves have already announced they will forgo them. The president did not provide details on a framework or timeline for an agreement.
