After weeks of restrictions: the easing granted to Agam Tzarfati, suspected of involvement in the murder of Binyahu Razi

Agam Tzarfati, the 19-year-old soldier suspected of involvement in the murder of her ex-boyfriend Binyahu Razi, has been transferred back to Neve Tirza prison and allowed to speak with her family after weeks of restrictions. The easing came following petitions by the Public Defender's Office, but the Israel Prison Service warns they may be revoked.

After weeks of severe restrictions and a legal battle with the Israel Prison Service, Agam Tzarfati, the 19-year-old soldier suspected of involvement in the murder of her ex-boyfriend Binyahu Razi, has received easing of her detention conditions. In recent days, Tzarfati was moved from the Abu Kabir detention center back to Neve Tirza prison, and she has been allowed to speak by phone with her family, after being denied this possibility for many weeks. The change came following petitions filed by her lawyers from the Public Defender's Office to the Tel Aviv District Court. The Prison Service had restricted phone calls due to suspicion of ties with criminal elements, and clarified that the easing may be revoked if she violates regulations. In the background is a decision from October 19 at the Jerusalem District Court, which ruled that there is no evidence to support a murder charge against Tzarfati, but there is prima facie evidence for aiding murder. Her lawyers criticized the Prison Service's treatment of her.
