Touched patient's genitals under the guise of an examination: Rambam nurse charged with indecent act

The Civil Service Commission filed a disciplinary complaint with the Jerusalem Civil Service Court against Muhammad Sanallah, a nurse in the urology department at Rambam Hospital, for committing indecent acts on a patient. According to the indictment, during a night shift in February 2024, he touched her genitals under the guise of a medical examination, exploiting his position and obtaining consent through fraud.

The Civil Service Commission today (Sunday) filed a disciplinary complaint with the Jerusalem Civil Service Court against Muhammad Sanallah, a nurse in the urology department at Rambam Hospital in Haifa. The complaint accuses him of committing indecent acts on a patient who was hospitalized in the department. The patient was at Rambam between February 5 and 8, 2024. On the first night of her hospitalization, around 1:00 AM, Sanallah entered her room, drew the privacy curtain, treated her IV, and asked if she was in pain. When she replied that her stomach hurt, he instructed her to lower her pants. He then touched her chest, asked her to also remove her underwear, and touched her genitals. The woman followed his instructions and did not resist, assuming it was a medical examination. The Commission claims Sanallah did this for sexual gratification, exploiting his position, after obtaining the patient's consent through fraud. Rambam Hospital stated that the employee's work ended several months ago following a disciplinary process.
