Three years later, the army admitted: there is additional material from the Nahal Oz outpost
The IDF admitted for the first time that there is additional material and footage from the Nahal Oz outpost from October 7 that was not transferred to the families of the female observers. This marks a change in the state's position, which until now claimed that all materials had been transferred. Following the families' petition, an examining officer was appointed who found new footage, which is expected to be transferred to the families in the near future.
A new development in the petition of the families of the female observers from Nahal Oz: The IDF admitted today (Tuesday) for the first time that there is additional material and footage from October 7 that was not transferred to the families. This marks a change in the state's position, which until now claimed that the materials had been transferred, except for footage that was burned and destroyed during the attack. Only thanks to the families' petition was an examining officer appointed, who reviewed the materials and found new footage. The footage includes some of the hours before the surprise attack and the massacre itself, and it is expected to be transferred to the families in the near future. Attorney Gilad Yitzhak Bar-Tal, representing the parents, responded: "We are convinced that the army has many materials that were not transferred to the parents of the female observers - we will not allow anyone to hide the truth. They took everything from them, at least answers are due to them." In a hearing at the High Court of Justice in November 2025, it was revealed that there was a cell phone in the command center that has not yet been checked to see if information can be recovered from it.
