ANU – Museum of the Jewish People has added three new artworks to its ongoing 'October 7' exhibit, coinciding with the third anniversary of the October 7, 2023 massacre. The new pieces, created by graduates of the WIZO Haifa School of Design, focus on themes of healing, resilience, and optimism following the return of all hostages to Israel. Tamara Kloss's 'Compassion Fatigue' comments on the proliferation of commemorative stickers for hostages and fallen soldiers since the war began. Yael Lerner's 'I Saw a Dove' is a book exploring emotions tied to the dove symbol. Yehuda Feldmer's 'Shalom' offers a visual study of the word 'peace.' The exhibit, curated by Michal Hominer and Carmit Blumenzon, features 25 artists and opened shortly after October 7, 2023, to document the events and creative coping mechanisms. It also includes the documentary 'Local Testimony for 2023' and a playlist of Israeli songs that became part of the war's soundtrack. ANU director general Col. (res.) Oded Revivi noted that art allows observation and healing, observing what was born from the fracture. Chief curator Dr. Orit Shaham Gober said the works now allow processing and building new hope, ranging between pain and the search for forward movement.
