Thousands of students from hundreds of yeshivas and religious state high schools (Mamad) filled the Sultan's Pool complex in Jerusalem today (Wednesday) for a massive event of the "Daily Maimonides" program. The gathering concluded two days of Torah and values celebrations in the capital, after thousands of female students filled the venue last night. The students celebrated the opening of the new academic year in the project, which is based on the free choice of youth to dedicate their free time to studying the books of "Mishneh Torah." During the ceremony, the learners marked the completion of the "Book of Seasons" studied throughout the summer vacation, and excitedly began studying the new book, "Book of Women." The event took place in the atmosphere of the Ten Days of Repentance and included a ceremony of accepting the yoke of the Kingdom of Heaven, along with blessings from the Rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, and the Rishon LeZion and Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Moshe Shlomo Amar. The national supervisor of Mamad, Rabbi Yishai Gertler, emphasized that daily study builds the character of the learner and connects him to a national patrol. The judge and warrior Rabbi Avraham Zarbiv shared the connection between Torah and military service. The event concluded with dancing to the tunes of performances by Akiva and Elaytzur.
