A father of two from Bnei Brak, who was shot three times in an assassination attempt intended for another person because of a mistaken identification, speaks for the first time in an interview with the main edition of i24NEWS. The victim, seriously wounded in the stomach and kidneys and who underwent lengthy surgery, described the moments of terror: "Suddenly a person stands, pointing a gun at me. It's completely crazy." The incident occurred on May 6, when the shooters, three defendants, followed the victim from his home, waited for him for about an hour and forty minutes, and shot him at point-blank range in a parking lot. The police investigation found that this was a mistaken identification, and the assessment is that the original target was another person from Ramat Gan who bears the same name. The motive for the assassination attempt is still unclear. In the police, the defendants are described as hired contractors who operate for money. An indictment was filed against the three for attempted murder, weapons offenses and obstruction of justice. The victim said he did not lose consciousness and managed the incident himself while shouting for help. "This is a miracle beyond nature. I am alive and walking on my legs," he concluded.
