Two IDF fallen soldiers, Staff Sergeant Itay Sa'adon and Reserve Staff Sergeant Nadav Kli, grew up house to house in the small northern community of Har Halutz. Nadav, who fell this week in the drone explosion incident in the Gaza Strip alongside Reserve Staff Sergeant Ofek Mu'alem, was laid to rest at the Misgav cemetery near his friend Itay, who fell in November 2023 in a battle in the northern Strip. Liat Sa'adon, Itay's mother, posted a moving message with shared childhood photos, depicting neighborhood life: children running around, mothers sitting on the curb, a Lag Ba'Omer bonfire, a children's market on the last Saturday of summer vacation, and sledding on plastic bags in winter. "Over the years, the street emptied of bicycles and sounds of play," she wrote. After her son's fall, the family moved to Tel Aviv. Itay always said he would return to raise his children in Har Halutz. "But Itay is dead, and now Nadav is dead too. And with the mothers, I meet mainly at the cemetery," she wrote. Nadav's comrades eulogized him: "A true warrior at heart, one of the strongest people I've known."
