Air Seychelles announced this morning (Saturday) to its customers in Israel the cancellation of flights from Tel Aviv to Mauritius, after authorities in the island nation refused to approve the landing of aircraft arriving from Israel. Representatives of the Israeli tourism company "Spirit Productions World" stated that despite extensive efforts to obtain approvals, Mauritius is not granting landing permission. The company said there is concern that the decision is related to Mauritius's current stance on the arrival of Israelis, against the backdrop of the situation and political dispute. The decision is painful and disappointing, and the company is working with Air Seychelles to obtain information for continued customer handling. The CEO of Spirit Productions World, Tali Yativ, stated that she regrets if the decision is made for political reasons that harm Israeli passengers. Only last June, Air Seychelles announced its return to Israel, and flights to Mahé began operating in August.
