The woman who makes terrorists in Gaza think twice: "They know we're after them - from the air and ground"

Captain S., a fire coordination officer in the Gaza Division's fire complex, is the woman responsible for one of the most sensitive and complex processes in the Strip: locating, incriminating, and eliminating terrorists. In a special interview with Maariv, she speaks about her role, the heavy sense of responsibility, and the operational methods she uses. According to her, over 700 terrorists have been eliminated in the past year, some of them senior commanders in Hamas and Islamic Jihad. The elimination rate stands at about two per day, and some are carried out by the Gaza Division alongside other fire complexes. S. explains that the process includes intelligence integration, gathering incriminating evidence, and precise strikes while minimizing casualties around the target. She emphasizes that only after all factors in the war room are convinced of the correct identification do they pull the trigger. The fact that only in the past month dozens of eliminations were carried out, she says, makes terrorists feel hunted and think four times before carrying out an attack. S. also shares a memory from her first elimination, on October 8, the day after the massacre, where an infiltration attempt by terrorists in the north was thwarted. She notes that some of the terrorists who committed the crimes on that Black Saturday are still alive, and the team works extensively to bring about their elimination, in cooperation with the Shin Bet.
