Embarrassment at the White House: The same spelling error also appeared in a document published by Trump himself

The White House distributed a voluntary commitment regarding artificial intelligence, on which the spelling error "President of the Unites States" stood out. The same mistake also appeared in a previous document by Trump on Truth Social and later on X, without correction. The voluntary commitment was signed by industry leaders, including the CEOs of Google, Meta, OpenAI, and xAI, and places responsibility on the industry for overseeing AI risks.

The White House distributed a voluntary commitment document this week regarding artificial intelligence safety, on which the spelling error "President of the Unites States" was written instead of "United States." The error appeared directly below President Donald Trump's signature. The same mistake was also detected in a letter Trump published on Truth Social on Tuesday, and in the commitment shared on X on Wednesday — in both cases without correction. The commitment was signed by technology industry leaders: Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI President Greg Brockman, xAI CEO Elon Musk, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The document places primary responsibility on the industry for overseeing AI risks and includes internal controls, third-party audits, and independent committees. Meanwhile, Senator Bernie Sanders introduced legislative initiative to completely ban artificial superintelligence. Trump and Nvidia's CEO rejected calls to slow the pace of development. Critics pointed to the typographical error as a symbol of a hasty launch.
