"The state emblem appeared twice": Solberg ordered Netanyahu to delete a photo attached to a political post he published

The chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, issued an interim order on Tuesday evening instructing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to correct an image attached to a publication on his personal-political accounts, after the state emblem appeared in it twice, in violation of the law prohibiting the use of public assets in election propaganda.

Another confrontation between the chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Solberg, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: Solberg issued an interim order on Tuesday evening requiring Netanyahu to correct an image attached to a publication on his personal-political accounts. In the post, Netanyahu praised Davidi Ben Zion, who resigned from the "Amcha Yisrael" list of Ofer Winter, and called on the remaining members of the list to resign in order to secure a right-wing victory. The illustration "Important update from the Prime Minister" included the state emblem, which appeared in it twice. The Elections Committee cited section 2a of the Elections Law (Propaganda Methods), which prohibits the use of public assets in election propaganda, and determined that the state emblem is considered an intangible public asset. The interim order requires the removal of the state emblems from the illustration, or alternatively the removal of the illustration from the publication, in effect until a different decision. The hearing on the petition continues.
