The Jerusalem District Court ordered the transfer of Pinchas Ran, the security coordinator of Reches Gid'onim accused of shooting at a Palestinian vehicle and seriously wounding a woman, to house arrest in the Golan Heights. The judge considered his lack of criminal record and military service, and rejected the prosecution's concern of obstruction of proceedings.

The Jerusalem District Court ordered the transfer of Pinchas (Hassi) Ran, the security coordinator of Reches Gid'onim, to house arrest in the Golan Heights. Ran is charged with aggravated assault after shooting at a Palestinian vehicle near the village of Aqraba and seriously wounding a woman. In his decision, Judge Elad Persky considered Ran's lack of criminal record, his military service as a commando reservist, recommendations from his commanders, and the fact that he saved soldiers' lives in battle. The judge rejected the prosecution's claim of a concern for obstruction of legal proceedings, ruling that no concrete concern was presented after the indictment was filed. Ran claims he fired into the air after a vehicle attempted to run him over and the soldier with him. His attorney, Nati Rom from the Honenu organization, welcomed the decision and called on the prosecution to reconsider its handling of the case.
