The rabbis' proposal to Vinter that was rejected

Three senior Religious Zionist rabbis met with Ofer Vinter and offered to obtain a signed commitment from Netanyahu and Smotrich for positions in the next government in exchange for withdrawing from the elections. Vinter rejected the offer and claimed his party is passing the electoral threshold.

Three senior Religious Zionist rabbis met today (Thursday) with Maj. Gen. (res.) Ofer Vinter, chairman of the 'Amcha Yisrael' party, and offered to obtain for him a signed commitment from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, promising positions in the next government, in exchange for his withdrawal from the Knesset race. The meeting was attended by the head of the Mercaz Harav Yeshiva, Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, the rabbi of Safed, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, and Rabbi Eitan Eizman. The rabbis sought to convince Vinter to withdraw out of concern that his party would not pass the electoral threshold and would cause a loss of votes for the right-wing camp. Vinter rejected the offer and claimed that according to internal polls in his possession, his party is passing the electoral threshold, and that many of his supporters are not classic right-wing voters, so his withdrawal could transfer votes to the opposition. The rabbis are preparing to publish a public call to the public.
