The political upheaval in Serbia continues: the director of the state broadcaster RTS resigned under pressure from students, an anchor on another channel apologized for years of biased coverage, and protesters broke into the offices of Informer TV, a channel linked to Vučić. The student list secured 140 seats in parliament compared to 104 for his party.
The political upheaval in Serbia continues, as the director of the state broadcaster RTS, Manja Grčić, announced her resignation under pressure from the opposition student movement that won the elections on Sunday. An anchor on another television channel opened his broadcast with an apology for years of one-sided coverage favoring the ruling party, saying: "We failed, we remained silent, we turned a blind eye." This came after Aleksandar Vučić conceded defeat and announced that the student list had secured more than half of the 250 seats in parliament. According to the election commission, the students have 140 seats and Vučić's party has 104. The students are calling for the resignation of a series of senior officials in the police, intelligence, and judiciary, and demanding investigations into corruption cases. Dozens broke into the offices of Informer TV, a channel linked to Vučić.
