A serious indictment was filed today (Thursday) against an IDF soldier suspected of spying for Iranian intelligence agencies for about a year. The soldier was arrested in September in a joint operation by the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. The indictment charges him with delivering information to the enemy with intent to harm state security, delivering information for the enemy's benefit, and contact with a foreign agent. According to the suspicion, the soldier was aware that his handler was Iranian and received payment in digital currencies. He provided information about the unit in which he served, about alert and call-out procedures, about military bases and their coordinates, and photographed interceptors, military vehicles, and American refueling aircraft. The soldier also passed details about his friends and commanders, knowing the handler would try to recruit them. The handler instructed him to install malicious communication applications and even offered him to come to Iran for $200,000. His detention has been extended until November 12, 2026. Security agencies stated that this is a very serious case and called on the public to remain vigilant.
