Amir notes that opposition leader Yair Lapid, representing 24 seats, chooses to lash out at the channel's reporters, and the "Democrats" party (successor to Meretz and Labor) boycotts the channel contrary to a High Court ruling. The column argues that democracy is tested precisely by the treatment of media outlets that are not liked, not by the ability to defend those that are. Amir concludes that "it is already here" – the phenomenon is not future but happening in the present.
