Former US President Donald Trump is establishing a special task force named "Superintelligence Force" to examine risks and opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence. Former US President Donald Trump is establishing a special task force named "Superintelligence Force" to examine risks and opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence. The team, headed by Michael Clayton, will formulate recommendations for the administration and determine how the US will ensure its position as a leader in the technological race. The establishment of the task force follows a meeting Trump held this week at the White House with industry leaders, including OpenAI President Greg Brockman, Dario Amodei from Anthropic, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. The industry agreed on a set of principles, including internal controls for model development, external reviews by third parties, and reports to boards on safety efforts. Trump praised the voluntary commitments and noted that he would never stifle the growth of a technology that will be greater than the industrial revolution. The committee, which aims to also address public concerns over cyber attacks, biological weapons, and job losses, will serve as a coordinating body. Additional members of the team include Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. External representatives will also participate, such as venture capitalist David Sacks and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
