CEO of Doral Energy, Ofer Setoy, spoke at the Globes kibbutz growth conference about the approval process for the 'Hadrei Shan' project – a large solar field in the Emek HaMa'ayanot region. The project, signed in 2014 with 11 kibbutzim, required 33 kibbutz assemblies and numerous regulatory approvals. Recently, Phase A was completed – a conventional ground-mounted solar facility, and in the middle of last month Phase B began using agrivoltaic technology on 1,700 dunams. The agrivoltaic portion is expected to generate annual revenues of about NIS 150 million. The entire complex will produce 325 megawatts and include a storage facility of 1.5 gigawatts. Setoy noted that the demand for electricity is infinite, and that Doral is working to establish server farms near its production facilities in the periphery.
