The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court dismissed the defamation lawsuit filed by Sara Netanyahu against former residence employee Sylvie Gensia, ruling that Netanyahu will pay 10,000 shekels in costs. Judge Ilan Ronen determined that Gensia met the burden of proof and that her claims were found to be true.
The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court today (Sunday) dismissed the defamation and privacy invasion lawsuit filed by Sara Netanyahu in 2020 against former residence employee Sylvie Gensia, ruling that Netanyahu will pay 10,000 shekels in costs. The verdict was published for the third time, after two previous rulings were annulled due to the disappearance of Gensia's former lawyer. Judge Ilan Ronen ruled that Gensia is entitled to the defense of "truth" and good faith, and rejected Netanyahu's claim of privacy invasion. In his decision, the judge wrote that the cumulative evidence is sufficient to determine that Netanyahu treated Gensia in an inappropriate, demeaning, and humiliating manner. Gensia's lawyer, Shaul Ida, stated that this is a silencing lawsuit by a powerful person abusing their power.
