"The Bomb Man", a married couple and NIS 10 million: extortion and gambling houses case solved

An extortion and illegal gambling case in Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak has been solved. Three suspects, including Lior Zairov, known as "The Bomb Man", and the married couple Evgenia and Michael Razets, were arrested on suspicion of operating gambling houses from which they raked in profits of over NIS 10 million, while simultaneously extorting a dealer with death threats and demanding NIS 100,000 from him.

An extortion and illegal gambling case in Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak was solved by the Tel Aviv District Police's Central Unit in cooperation with the Tax Authority and the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office. Three main suspects were arrested: Lior Zairov, known as "The Bomb Man", a resident of the area in his 30s; and the married couple Evgenia and Michael Razets, residents of Jaffa in their 30s. According to the suspicion, the three operated illegal gambling houses in Ramat Gan and Bnei Brak for an extended period, from which they raked in profits of over NIS 10 million. During the undercover investigation, police raided three gambling houses, seized a large amount of equipment, and issued closure orders. However, during the investigation, a serious extortion case was uncovered: one of the dealers operating at the site was extorted by the suspects, who threatened to murder him, assaulted him, and demanded NIS 100,000 from him. Police claim that as a result of the threats, the victim was forced to transfer the money to them. Zairov was arrested on September 6, and the Razets couple were arrested on September 14. Evidence was also gathered against the three on suspicion of tax offenses. The prosecution filed a statement of charges, and indictments are expected to be filed today, along with a request to keep them in custody until the end of proceedings.
