Terror in the heart of Tel Aviv: The serial burglar from East Jerusalem roamed the home - while the tenant slept

Mohammad Mansour, 26, from East Jerusalem, broke into a ground-floor apartment in Tel Aviv while the tenant was sleeping, stealing property and a credit card. He was arrested the next day. The indictment includes an additional break-in at a restaurant storage room. The tenant described a shaken sense of security.

A Tel Aviv resident, Yarden, experienced a break-in at her ground-floor apartment on Carlbach Street while she was sleeping. The burglar, Mohammad Mansour, 26, from East Jerusalem, climbed over a fence, opened a locked glass door, and rummaged through cabinets and drawers while she slept in her room. He stole a mobile phone worth 4,000 shekels, a credit card, a hat, a tank top, and pants. About an hour later, he made two purchases with the stolen card at a business called 'Sudoch'. Yarden said she heard the sound of a glass breaking but thought it came from the floor above. Mansour was arrested the next day. During his interrogation, he gave conflicting versions: first claiming he fled from pursuers and entered by mistake, then admitting to the theft and exchanging the phone for drugs, and finally denying everything. The indictment also includes a break-in at a restaurant storage room three days earlier, where he stole alcohol and ate food. The police requested his detention until the end of proceedings due to his dangerousness. Yarden said her sense of security was completely shaken, and she is considering installing cameras and security devices in the apartment.
