Against the backdrop of IDF alertness and preparations for the Tishrei holidays, clashes were recorded in the village of Al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, between settlers and Palestinians. Al Jazeera and the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported gunfire directed at Palestinian homes in the village. Meanwhile, the IDF spokesperson stated that yesterday, gunfire was directed at an Israeli vehicle in the area near the village, close to the Mitzpe David farm, and security forces responded with searches and the imposition of blockades on the village. The police opened an investigation into another violent incident: the assault of a Palestinian woman with a stick in the area of Khirbet Markaz in the southern Hebron Hills. The suspect, a Jewish youth, fled and has not yet been apprehended despite searches by the IDF and police. The IDF continues a focused and large-scale counter-terrorism operation throughout Judea and Samaria, during which more than 1,200 buildings and sites have been scanned in recent months, and many armored personnel carriers have been observed in the Nablus sector. The security establishment is on high alert and is preparing with reinforced forces for Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah, when thousands of tourists and visitors are expected to visit the area.
