Suspicion of robberies in the West Bank: taxi drivers pulled from vehicles and fled

Two residents of Biddu and Telafit, aged around 20 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of two robberies in which they pulled taxi drivers from their vehicles and fled with the cars. In one case, a bruised driver arrived at the Hashmonaim checkpoint. A prosecutor's statement was filed.

Two suspects, residents of the villages of Biddu and Telafit in their 20s and 30s, were arrested on suspicion of two robberies in which they pulled taxi drivers from their vehicles and fled with the taxis. The investigation began on September 25, after a taxi driver arrived on foot and bruised at the Hashmonaim checkpoint. The driver said he drove two passengers from Ashdod to the village of Al Qadis, and when they arrived at the entrance to the village, they asked him to get out of the taxi under the pretext that he would help one of them take a bag from the trunk. After he got out of the car, the two fled, leaving him bruised on the side of the road. During the investigation, suspicion arose that the two were involved in a similar incident that occurred several weeks earlier, near the Palestinian village of Deir Qadis. In that case, a taxi driver arrived in the area to pick up goods, and the two suspects got into his car and fled the scene. At the end of the investigation by the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District, a prosecutor's statement was filed, and an indictment is expected to be filed against them in the coming days.
